Fig & Squill was created by Laura Seita in 2014.

Born in Texas and raised in the South, she integrated a love of nature, design, and order at an early age thanks to her parents, an interior designer and CPA,  both of whom are avid gardeners. Her artistic career of 20+ years has taken her from Austin to Chicago, and from New York City to Rhode Island.

Creating beautiful environments is her greatest passion. Her experience also includes managing floral studios, teaching floral design courses, freelance art, and contributing to design books. Laura has a wide variety of aesthetic influences and a deep understanding of what makes a wonderful event. 

Fig & Squill collaborates with other talented designers, artists, and all-around craftsmen to skillfully deliver each unique event. Working from a private studio behind the Seitas’ 18th-century colonial cape, designs are supplemented with seasonal flora from the ever-expanding gardens around the property.
